To the Charter School Administrator Addressed:

The Texas Education Agency now REQUIRES an official email address from each school district and charter. Although you may have provided a previous email address, we are now requesting an email address to be used only when the Agency needs to expedite the sending of official TEA information to charters. The recent confusion about the closing of schools due to the events on September 11 illustrates the need for this type of communication system.

Please designate an email address for the individual who has the authority to make such decisions for your charter. Although you may submit the same address that you have already provided or a different address, it should be the email for the individual the Agency will contact in the case of an emergency.

This information is needed by Monday, October 22, 2001. To expedite the process, you may complete the few lines at the bottom of this letter and return it by fax to (512) 463-9732. Please do this immediately. If you have any questions, call (512) 463-9575.
