

Charter School Child Count
The child count should be reported in the Newly Opened Charter School Child Count screens on the automated 2003-2004 Web Standard Application System (WEB SAS) for Special Education Programs. The reporting system will be available on the web from October 1, 2003 through October 22, 2003 and any child count information must be reported through the WEB SAS system during this period of availability. Only newly opened charter schools for 2003-2004 will have access to the child count screens. ACTION REQUIRED: September 24, 2003 TO THE SUPERINTENDENT ADDRESSED: The 2002-03 Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) reports for your district and schools are available as of September 25, 2003 at the Texas Education Agency’s website. These reports are not being mailed to districts and schools, but are available to be printed directly from the web. To view and print the reports, go to the following address in your web browser and follow the directions provided there: http://www.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/aeis/2003/supt.srch.html This site is designed for district use. A public version of the AEIS site will be available October 1st. The district site has the following components: Guidelines - Information regarding district responsibilities for publishing the AEIS report, instructions for printing from the web, and other topics. Keep in mind that the Guidelines will only be available online; this document will not be mailed to districts. Please print out and read the Guidelines. Glossary - Definitions and methodologies for all items found in the AEIS reports. District AEIS Report - The AEIS report for your district which consists of the performance and profile sections. Campus AEIS Reports - The AEIS reports for each school in your district, which include performance and profile sections. Campus Group lists - For each school, a listing showing the 40 schools in that school’s unique comparison group.
