SCHOOL FINANCIAL AUDITS
EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2003 the School Financial Audits Division
will communicate with charter schools via email in lieu of letters via U.S. mail
or facsimile. Charters may receive the following communications via email.
- General correspondence regarding updates to the Financial
Accountability System Resource Guide, including the charter
supplements;
- Reminders regarding the filing of the annual audit report,
depository contract, etc;
- Notification of an audit, investigation or monitoring visit; and
- Requests for charter school records.
The division will initiate this activity as a pilot program and may expand this
endeavor to include other types of communications if the project is successful.
The division will use the email address maintained in AskTED to communicate
with the charter school via email. It is important that the charter school
ensures that its email address is current.
