Facsimiles will not be accepted. The depository contract must identify the charter holder as the account holder. If you previously submitted a copy of the depository contract and have not changed your depository or the account into which public funds are deposited and have not added a new account with another depository, you should forward a letter stating that the depository contract on file is still current and that you have not deposited public funds into any other accounts other than the one indicated on the depository contract previously filed. If you created a new account with the same depository or a new account with a new depository, this requirement may be met by filing a copy of the attached depository contract form or a copy of the account signature card and the referenced booklet describing the terms and conditions of the account. Bank Depository bids are not required of charter schools. For questions, contact Mary Gonzalez at TEA at 512-463-9095.

ANNUAL BUDGET FOR CHARTERS A few questions concerning the discussion of the annual budget for charter schools have been asked. The rules pertaining to the annual budget include:

  • The governing body of the charter school must formally adopt the charter school's budget prior to the start of each fiscal year and before the expenditure of funds.

  • The budget must include all expenses and must be prepared in a manner consistent with the account code structure used by the charter school.

  • The governing body of the charter school must also formally adopt amendments to the charter school's budget.

  • The current year budget will be submitted to TEA through the fall PEIMS Submission.
