NEW INFORMATION FROM ALTERNATIVE ED ACCOUNTABILITY Please note that there will be no 2002-03 end-of-year data submission for selected additional indicators. As of May 15, 2003, the Office of Alternative Education Accountability is not accepting any TEASE or 2003-2004 registration requests from LEAs. Decisions about any future registration requirements will be made when the new accountability system is completed. Please continue to access this web page for the most current information concerning alternative education accountability. For more information, visit http://www.tea.state.tx.us/alt.ed/index.html.

THE SAS ADMINISTRATOR'S GUIDE FOR SPECIAL ED Programs and the tentative IDEA-B entitlement amounts for the 2003-2004 school year are available for your charter school or shared services arrangement through the WEB SAS system. The 2003-2004 SAS application for special education programs continues to be automated and will be submitted over the Internet-based WEB SAS system. The WEB SAS application is used to request state and federal funds identified in the Guide. The WEB SAS system can be accessed at http://barton.tea.state.tx.us/websas. Applications will be processed and approved in the order received. Every effort will be made to complete Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) approval within 30 days for applications received in substantially approvable form. Users should continue to review the information found in the WEB SAS Job Aid and WEB SAS User Manual, both of which are available through links in the WEB SAS system. These documents will guide LEA users through the initial login, registration, and application process. The effective dates for the use of funds approved for 2003-2004 will be July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004, for federal funds other than discretionary. The effective date for applications received after July 1, 2003, will be the date the application is received by the Agency. Applicant agencies may not obligate or receive any services under these projects before the effective date.

Note: Since 2003-2004 information has been made available in production, LEAs and other users will need to ensure that they select the proper fund year from the pick list when they enter the WEB SAS system. More than one year of data will be available through the system, and users will need to make appropriate fund year selections before initiating any actions in the system.
