REGION IV ESC SUMMER 2003 INSTITUTE FOR SPECIAL ED The Region IV Education Service Center (ESC) third statewide summer institute for charter schools, Charter School Administrator Series in Special Education: Summer 2003 Institute (Event Number 3375-20725), is scheduled for June 9-12, 2003. This Institute is hosted by the University of Houston Charter School. Topics include current federal and state requirements regarding special education programming and implementation in charter schools, case law summaries, and a legal panel responding to questions from participants. A new optional post-conference session on June 12 will enable participants to choose from one of three topics: The ABC's of Grading (EN# 3538-21546); WEB SAS Online Help Session (EN# 4187-21547); or Considering Assistive Technology (AT) in the IEP Process (EN# 4680-21615). At the conclusion of the Institute, participants will receive 21-23 continuing professional education credits. An optional 2 hours of graduate credit through the University of St. Thomas is available for an additional fee.

Registrations for the Institute will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up to a limit of 100 participants. Fee for participants from the Region IV area is $150 for the three-and-a-half-day workshop. Fee for participants from outside the Region IV area is $225.00. Post-conference session fee is $20.00 for participants from the Region IV area and $30 for out-of-region participants. Please register by Event Number listed above.
