GOVERNANCE REPORTING FORM The deadline for returning the Governance Reporting Form to TEA was November 1, 2001. Each charter should have received the form in the mail from TEA. If you have not done so, complete the attached form and fax to the Charter School Division, 512-463-9732. For information call Ertha Patrick at 512-936-2624.

CHARTER SCHOOL DIVISION OFFICES MOVED The Charter School Division at TEA has moved their offices to the fifth floor, Room 5-107 in the Travis Building. Their address will remain the same, only their office number has changed.

2002 MIDWINTER CONFERENCE will be held January 28 - 30, 2002 in Austin at the Convention Center. Once again a time has been set aside for charters to meet from 9:00 - 11:15 a.m. in the Sabine Room on Monday, January 28. The informal session is designed to provide updates for charter administrators on a variety of areas, including progress on Commissioner rules related to HB 6. Brochures containing the schedule of activities, program topics, and conference highlights will be available on the conference website, www.tea.state.tx.us/midwinter, and were mailed to each charter and district in November. Registration is $45 and forms were distributed to districts and charters in July. Questions about registration should be directed to the Texas Association of School Administrators at 800-725-8272. PROTECTIVE AND REGULATORY SERVICES LETTER A letter from the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services (PRS) was sent to all charter schools on July 23, 2001. The letter concerns a new project that will benefit school professionals who report the abuse/neglect of children to PRS. See attached.
