Activities under IDEA-B

Purpose: To provide local education agencies with a need for additional funds to carry out activities under IDEA-B for students with disabilities whose per pupil expenditure substantially exceeds the state average per pupil expenditure (e.g. greater than $15,538).

Use of Funds: Activities under IDEA-B grants are solely designed to provide a local education agency with additional funds. "Supplement not Supplant" and "Maintenance of Effort" do apply to this competitive grant.

Grant Period: November 1, 2001 through June 30, 2003

Reimbursement: This grant will be reimbursed only at the end of the grant period or the end of the project. The reimbursable amount is the difference between the cost associated with high cost student(s) and special education funds generated by the targeted student(s).

Public Comment: The public law does require this component prior to application for funds.
