SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Academic / Accountability Academies 2001 will be hosted by the Resource Center in Dallas and Houston for all Texas charters. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge. See attached for times, dates, and registration form. The Math Workshops for grades K-2, 3-5 & 6-8 are two-day events. Please RSVP to the Resource Center at 210-348-7890 or fax the attached registration form to 210-348-7899 by Tuesday, July 10th. Babysitting services will not be provided. Please refrain from bringing any children or students to the workshops.

  • PEIMS Requirements and PID Error Rates
  • IOV, CAR, DEC, Peer Review, Special Education Issues

TEA UPDATE

  • STAKEHOLDER MEETINGS The Texas Education Agency will hold public meetings to provide information and receive public comments about agency rule-making resulting from HB 6. These public meetings are part of the effort to include stakeholder input in the rule-making process. Members of the public may fax written comments to 512-463-9732. Attendees should provide three copies of written comments. The meetings will be held in:

    6. Standards for purchasing provisions that may be included in a charter

    DIVISION OF STATE FUNDING

    The 2001-2002 Preliminary Estimate of State Aid Will and Estimated Payment Schedule will be mailed on Wednesday, July 25th. This initial estimate will be based on the latest attendance report on file for the 2000-01 school year. If the charter school determines that the initial enrollment will be significantly different than what the preliminary Estimate of State Aid indicates, please complete the 2001-02 Estimate of State Aid Template. The estimate of state aid template is available at www.tea.state.tx.us/school.finance/charter. The template may be faxed to Nora Rainey at 512-463-9233. The deadline for this template is Friday, August 24, 2001.

    Please note that new charter schools will not receive a preliminary Estimate of State Aid and they must submit the template by Thursday, September 5, 2001.

    Calendars for all charter schools are due by Friday, August 3, 2001. Please make sure that all calendar tracks are submitted at this time. Additional calendar tracks will not be accepted after this date and there will be no exceptions. The calendar template can be downloaded at www.tea.state.tx.us/school.finance/charter.
