TEA UPDATES
NEW CHARTER ORIENTATION The TEA Charter Schools Division is hosting a two-day orientation session at the Texas Education Agency in Austin on October 3rd and 4th , Room 1-104, from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. for Third, Fourth, and Fifth Generation charters that have not yet attended a TEA new charter orientation. Any charters who have already attended are also welcome. Presenters from more than twenty TEA divisions and departments will provide information. RSVP to Kirsten Christophersen at 512-463-9575. See attached agenda. ALL AMENDMENTS to be considered at the November 2000 State Board of Education Meeting are due into the TEA Charter Schools Division office by Monday, October 2, 2000. Charter Schools That Work: An Essay by Clarence Page , will air in Houston on Station KUHT Channel 8 on Sunday, October 1, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. KIPP Academy will be featured. The documentary will air in Dallas on Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, October 7th at 5:00 p.m. on Station KDTN Channel 2.
