EL PASO ACADEMY EAST is pleased to report that they opened on September 11, 2000 with an enrollment of 91 high school students. Superintendent and founder is Kay Reid and Director of Instruction is Dr. Katherine Kelley.

TEXAS LANGUAGE CHARTER is pleased to announce a $50,000 TIF grant to their school. Congratulations to Director Mike Shepherd.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUM American Academy of Excellence, 1101 Pierce, in Houston, will host a symposium for staff development on Monday, October 9, 2000. ACADEMY OF CAREERS AND TECHNOLOGY CHARTER has been selected to participate in the Compu-Teach Partnership Grant Program. They will receive a $3,600 partnership grant for Compu-Teach software. Congratulations to Director Tonji Simpson.
