FIRST GENERATION CHARTER RENEWAL WORKSHOP
The TEA Charter School office will host a Charter Renewal Workshop for all First Generation Charters on Thursday, September 7, 2000 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Room 1-104 of the Travis building in Austin. For more information contact Sheryl at 210-463-9575.

STAFF DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUM
A symposium for staff development will be hosted by the American Academy of Excellence Charter, 1101 Pierce, in Houston on Monday, October 9, 2000. An attorney with Bracewell & Patterson will discuss student discipline from 9:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and staff issues from 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Guidelines for student and staff handbooks, as well as state codes, will be discussed. RSVP to the charter school at 713-283-9235. There is a $20 fee.

The Resource Center has received numerous requests to conduct one more IOV Training. We will provide two boxes with 119 colored-coded indicator folders and sample documentation. Workshops and lunch are provided by the Charter School Resource Center at no cost to the charters.

STEERING COMMITTEE FOR SPECIAL ED
Cheryl Washington, founder of Radiance Academy Charter, has been invited to serve on the Steering Committee for Special Education that will actively participate with TEA to develop a Special Ed improvement plan. For more information call Cheryl at 210-734-5034.
