CONGRATULATIONS Harris County Juvenile Justice Charter School has received their TAAS scores and are pleased to report that 67% passed in Reading and 85% passed in Writing. This is especially heartening for the charter movement because this is a very transitory student population that is usually well below grade level and has a history of seldom passing the TAAS. Congratulations to David Wingard, David Wood, and all the hard-working teachers.

GRANT PROPOSALS Rita Stephan, of the States Grants Team, has volunteered to assist charter schools with grant proposals. If you need assistance please call her at 512-305-9068.

CONGRATULATIONS According to The Investment Challenge Update, The North Hills Charter School students ranked first in the nation on the Highest Average Value on Investments category for spring competition. Four students placed 7th and 9th in the nation in the Top 20 Investment Portfolios category. Congratulations Marshall Williard, sponsor of the student team.

The Resource Center welcomes the newest member of our staff, Denise Helwig, who officially joined us this week as the Admin Associate/Bookkeeper.
