Conference Deadline Extended

CONFERENCE DEADLINE Due to enormous demand, the Resource Center has extended the registration deadline to November 8, 2006. The conference registration form and conference details are on our website at www.charterstexas.org. The charter conference discount rate of $110 has been extended until November 8th at the Hilton Americas Houston.

Early Conference Check-in

Conference check-in will begin Sunday evening, November 26th from 4 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue Monday at 8:00 a.m. We encourage everyone to check-in and receive conference packets on Sunday evening in order to avoid long lines on Monday morning.

Electronic Submission of Policies and Procedures
Pursuant to 34 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 300.201, each Open-Enrollment Charter School must have on file with the TEA by January 1, 2007, it’s policies, procedures and programs that are consistent with State policies and procedures governing special education. Legal Framework for the Child-Centered Process Phase IV “Charting the Course” discussions will be offered in concurrent sessions at the Charter School Conference. Region 18 has worked closely with ESC’s to provide assistance to Charter Schools in this process. Legal Framework will continue to be used for policy and procedure updates in the future.
