The 2006 Annual Governance Reporting Form for Open Enrollment Charter Schools is now available online at www.tea.state.tx.us/charter/forms/forms.html. The deadline for submitting the form to the TEA is November 1, 2006. For additional information contact the Division of Charter Schools at 512-463-9575.
School Health and Related Services
A special TETN presentation designed to specifically address “must know” information for business officials relating to required changes to the School Health and Related Services (SHARS) program will be presented on November 17, 2006, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
at all Education Service Centers. The title of the program is, How do Changes to the SHARS Program Impact the Business Office? If your charter school is able to connect remotely, contact the TETN coordinator at your ESC if you wish to make arrangements. The last hour of the broadcast will be devoted to issues unique to SSAs and Co-ops.
If you have specific questions you would like addressed during the presentation, please e-mail Nancy Kimble at nancy.kimble@hhsc.state.tx.us. While the emphasis of this broadcast will be on financial matters, special education directors and other charter school staff are encouraged to participate.
Legislative Changes on School Starting Dates
The new legislation passed in the May 2006 Special Session requiring a uniform start date for traditional public schools beginning in 2007 does not apply to charter schools.
