TEA has posted a new letter on their website which summarizes several important statutes relating to attendance, public school admission, enrollment records, and tuition. The letter is divided into four parts and in each part, TEA has identified which statutes do or do not apply to open-enrollment charter schools. Revised Standard Application System for Special Education
The Standard Application System (SAS) revised Administrator’s Guide for Special Education Programs and the tentative entitlement amounts for the 2006-2007 school year are available through the Web SAS at www.tea.state.tx.us/special.ed/funding . Revisions include reminders, clarifications, and procedures to apply for federal fund sources in the 2006-2007 Web SAS. The Web SAS application used to request state and federal funds identified in the Guide include revisions to, refinements of, or deletions from the 2005-2006 application and is located at http://barton.tea.state.tx.us/websas. Applications will be processed and approved in the order received. Contact the ESC special education contact with questions concerning the SAS process and submission of the application.
