Senate Education Committee Hearing Cancelled
The Senate Education Committee Hearing that was scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the funeral of Mrs. John Connally. The ACE annual meeting and training that were scheduled for tomorrow and Thursday will remain unchanged as listed below.
ACE ANNUAL MEETING
The Association of Charter Educators (ACE) will conduct its annual meeting 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm on September 6, 2006 at the George I. Sanchez Charter School, 6001 Gulf Freeway, B-3, Houston, with a reception to follow from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm. ACE members will conduct annual business, including election of new board members and discussion of the upcoming legislative session. HB1 & School FIRST Update
Continuing Training Opportunity
ACE will host an HB1 and School FIRST Update training on September 7, 2006, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a working lunch ($10 per person), at the Family and Protective Services Building, 2525 Murworth, Room D-36B, Houston. Training topics will include the impact of HB1 on charter school funding and accountability, a review of proposed legislation, and an update on the School FIRST as modified for Charters. This training will meet a portion of the Administrator and Board Member training requirements established by the state.
