ARI/AMI Application Process

The application process for the 2006-2007 Accelerated Reading Initiative/ Accelerated Mathematics Initiative (ARI/AMI) and the 2005-2006 Consolidated Reading Initiative (CRI) Report became accessible through eGrants beginning August 1, 2006. The application is due by September 30, 2006, and the report is due October 2, 2006. These funds are intended to support schools in implementation of scientific, research-based programs for students in Grade K-7 who have been identified as unlikely to achieve the TAKS reading standard by the end of third grade, including those students with dyslexia and related disorders, students unlikely to achieve the TAKS reading or math standards by the end of fifth grade, and/or students unlikely to achieve TAKS reading or math standards in the eighth grade assessments administered in 2008.

The Consolidated Reading Initiative Report combines three reports:

  1. Accelerated Reading Instruction/Accelerated Math Instruction Program Evaluation Report;
  2. Accelerated Reading Instruction/Accelerated Math Instruction Final Expenditure Report by Instructional Grouping/Timing of Instruction Strategies;
  3. Early Reading Instruments Report.

Failure to complete all of the 2005-2006 reporting requirements by the deadlines could jeopardize grantees’ 2006-2007 ARI/AMI funding. Information regarding the grant application process is accessible at the web link: www.tea.state.tx.us/reading. The application for this fund source and report will be available only through eGrants. Paper copies of this application and report will not be accepted. Access to the application and report can be obtained through the following web link: https://seguin.tea.state.tx.us/apps/logon.asp.

Access to the TEA eGrants system requires a TEA Secure Environment (TEA SE) username and password for each individual who will be entering and/or certifying and submitting data. To request a TEA SE username and password complete the TEA SE Request for Access: eGrants form located at the following web address:www.tea.state.tx.us/forms/tease/egrants_ext.htm.

Individuals who currently have a TEA SE username/password, but who do not have specific access to eGrants must have the eGrants application added to their access by using the form at: www.tea.state.tx.us/forms/tease/egrants_ext.htm. Individuals who already have access to eGrants do not need to reapply. It takes approximately two weeks to process the TEA SE ID request. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit the TEA SE ID form as early as possible to facilitate access to the application when it becomes available through eGrants. Not having the appropriate TEA SE ID will not be an acceptable excuse for missing submission deadlines.

If you have questions related to TEA SE, please email GrantsTEA-SE@tea.state.tx.us. For assistance regarding TEA State Reading Initiatives reports cited here, please contact the Division of Curriculum at stateini@tea.state.tx.us.
