Grant Funds Available

2007-2008 Grant Funding Available
Start-up funding is available for new open-enrollment charters that are approved during the September 2006 meeting of the State Board of Education and for new campus charters approved by an ISD's local board of trustees according to TEC, Chapter 12, Subchapter C no later than November 3, 2006. Please note that open-enrollment charter schools opening new campuses are not eligible for additional start-up funds. According to USDE, start-up funds may only be awarded when an entity is granted a charter. The application for funding will be available through the TEA eGrants system on or about December 1, 2006. Open-enrollment charters that are approved in September will be notified individually in November of the availability of these grant funds. Individuals interested in campus charter start-up funding should refer to the letter at the following URL: www.tea.state.tx.us/taa/opge041206.html. In order to be considered for the next available funding cycle for new campus charter schools, the approved minutes from the local board of trustees granting the charter must be received by TEA on or before November 3, 2006. The approved minutes must be mailed or faxed to:
