Columbia Education Center
Technology Innovation Challenge Grant

The Columbia Education Center is looking for no more than 40 charter school partners from around the U.S. to join in a Technology Innovation Challenge Grant project entitled Technology Applications in Charter School Instruction (TACSI).

TACSI will involve the development and implementation of Internet-delivered curriculum. Each partner school will agree to devote at least one staff member to participate in a workshop that will teach them how to develop a web-based course, and then, with the assistance of the project staff over the course of the next year, develop a course.

All costs of the training will be paid by the project, and the charter school and/or the course developer will be modestly compensated for creating and submitting the course.

Each of the partner schools will have access to the web courses designed by every other school. The content area of the course will be at the discretion of the charter school, but subject to the approval of project staff.

The exact parameters of the project are still under development. If you are interested in being on the list as a potential partner, please go to http://www.col-ed.org/tacsi.html and fill out the on-line form indicating your interest.

Details about the exact structure of the project will be forthcoming within the next month. Filling out the form simply indicates interest, and does not bind either you or Columbia Education Center in any way.
