Primary Role and Purpose:

 

     Oversee the effective use of technology in the instructional programs.  Assist in the designing of

     short- and long-term plans for the implementation of technology into the instructional program and

     provide the technology staff development and training.

 

Qualifications:

 

     Education:

     Skills:

  • Understanding of computer applications.
  • Awareness of technologies available for use in the classroom.
  • Working knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.
  • Capable of providing technical training to adult learners.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Training

  • Assist principal and other charter personnel in planning, implementation, and evaluation of technology program.
  • Devise and implement a complete charter plan for the use of instructional technology.
  • Ensure training to teachers and administrators of methods to use technology in the curriculum.

 

Curriculum Development

  • Provide assistance in implementing technology in the curriculum.
  • Supervise the curriculum writing for technology programs and verify the use of technology in all content areas.
  • Disperse data regarding research and developments in technology education.
  • Draft and implement an ongoing evaluation of the technology instructional program and update program based on data.

Technical Support

  • Help maintain instructional programs through bidding processes, purchasing, distribution, maintenance, and installation of hardware, software, and other technological equipment and materials.

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
