Primary Role and Purpose:

     Provide safe and attractive grounds for the charter.

 

Qualifications:

 

     Education:

            List XYZ Charter School requirements

 

     Skills:

  • Capable of reading and understanding written instructions.
  • Capable of effective verbal communication.
  • Capable of operating tractor and landscaping equipment.
  • Capable of operating riding or power mower, power tools and hand tools.

 

     Experience:

            List XYZ Charter School requirements

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

     Grounds and Landscaping

  • Mow and detail all charter grounds, including athletic fields.
  • Provide necessary care for trees, shrubs and flowers by watering, pruning, fertilizing, mulching, caring for beds, and controlling weeds.
  • Plant shrubs and vegetation.
  • Provide assistance with the preparations of athletic fields for games, including chalking fields.
  • Water grounds and apply fertilizer.
  • Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish and refuse from charter facilities.
  • Help examine, fix, and install sprinkler systems as needed.

 

     Safety

  • Follow charter safety guidelines when operating tools and equipment.
  • Abide by established safety guidelines and operations to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
  • Make work area free from safety hazards, advise supervisor of any conditions that cannot be immediately corrected.
  • Keep vehicle, equipment and tools in safe operating order.
  • Examine and adjust tools and equipment for safety and effectiveness and employ preventive maintenance as required.
