Primary Role and Purpose:
Establish the school in federal/special
programs. Discuss with charter staff and
outside personnel
to devise,
develop, implement and assess federal/special programs.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Examine all federal
legislation, projects and programs for grant, entitlements and allocation
opportunities with regards to charter needs.
- Informs appropriate
administrators of the effects that current and impending legislation will
place on the charter.
- Assist with
federal/special funding of programs through writing of proposals and
reports, including the drafting and development of program goals, objectives
and budgets.
- Compile and present to
Texas Education Agency (TEA) the applications for federal funding.
- Examine all project and
program request that require federal/special money.
- Design and implement an
ongoing evaluation of the federal/special programs and make adaptations
based on the results.
Consultation
- Work as a partner for
the charter and agencies on joint federally funded projects.
- Confer with individuals
associated with federal/special programs.

Finance and Inventory
- Apply for federal funds
and assist in grant-writing activities to gather funding for
federal/special programs and services.
- Manage grant-funded
programs and their budgets to provide compliance with regulations and
guidelines.
- Provide cost-effective
programs and see that federal/special programs are managed appropriately.
- Assess program needs to
calculate budget and cost estimates.
Documentation and Law
- Gather, manage and file
all hardcopy and computerized reports, records and other documents
required, including required financial reports to TEA.
- Abide by all policies
established by federal and state law that apply to charter schools, Commissioner’s
Rules that apply to charter schools, and the local charter policy.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
