Primary Role and Purpose:

 

     Provide guidance to staff to enable the positive use of technology in the instructional programs at

      the campus level.  Ensure technical support of the hardware and software to the charter campus.

 

Qualifications:

 

     Education:

     Skills:

  • Ability to run computer hardware and software applications.
  • Capable of providing technical training to adult learners.
  • Be informed of curriculum and technology used in the instructional classroom.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

     Experience:

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

Training

  • Supply charter staff development on technology topics including use of hardware and software, maintenance, general troubleshooting, previewing, evaluation and selecting software, etc.
  • Draft individual instructional plans, instructional materials and training aids.
  • Evaluate participant’s skill level using a variety of assessment guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers on effective instructional practices to include technology in the classroom.

 

Technical Support

  • Help with troubleshooting and resolving computer problems.
  • Act as contact for outside supplier of computer equipment and materials.
  • Assist CEO and charter personnel with planning of technology training, implementations of technology programs and choosing computer equipment and software.

  • Help evaluate the use of technology at the classroom and charter level.   

     

Fiscal and Inventory Management

  • Help maintain technology expenditures through budgeting.
  • Oversee purchasing and use of legal software at the charter level.

 

Other

  • Gather, manage, and file all hardcopy and computerized reports, records and other documents required by charter, state and federal policy.
  • Abide by all policies established by federal and state law that apply to charter schools, Commissioner’s Rules that apply to charter schools, and local charter policy.
  • Abide with all charter routines and regulations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

     Oversee all technology specialists at the charter.

 

Job Related Conditions:

  • Maintain control in stressful situations.
